Knit With a Local
Enjoy a cultural experience in an old local home. Sára Mrdalo welcomes you to her Faroese Mediterrean home á Berjarheygnum, where you can learn how to knit traditional Faroese slippers using Faroese yarn and pattern. Sára’s home is an experience of mixed culture as her husband is from Croatia.
The host Sára is a Faroese knitter and designer. Knitting is a wonderful and relaxing craft. Sára offers knitting classes for beginners and advanced knitters. While you enjoy a cup of coffee and a good homemade dessert she will tell you about the Faroe Islands, Skálafjørður and about general family life and traditions in the Faroe Islands.
The knitting level in the session is based on skills. You will also get the opportunity to buy yourself a local handmade souvenir such as has a handmade figure, which Sára’s daugther has made.
